Good

This is one of the best books in the series. The word myth means legend. The myths here are not of Christian origin. You can take all the myths you want and you won't get any better than the King James Bible. Everything is explained in the Holy Bible. God created Adam & Eve, who had Cain & Abel. The Christian God created this world Earth in 6 days. Noah's Arc gave rise to all living creatures in the world wide flood. Dragons gaurded their treasure and featured in many myths, though still exist it's not an every day thing. Also covered are the cyclops and witch. Still a worthwhile read and exceptional in the series as a whole. I'd recommend it.

Love DK books

My son is addicted to DK eyewitness books and this book is his new favorite.

Great Visuals, but not a story book

This is a book about Mythology and shows lots of visuals of ancient art showing how they depicted their mythology. It's organised by types of mythology, creation myths, fertility myths, afterlife myths, not by cultures. It's a broad introduction to the topic, and I know kids will find the pictures interesting and they will want to learn more about the specifics, which will require other books, but for a child first begining to understand mythology, or even the roots of NeoPaganism, this and perhapse the DK eyewitness book on religion would be a great start. The best part, in my opinion, is that it even encludes a few Biblical myths. ;) As far as age range goes, I think it would be good for 8-14 ish, but child millage and maturity will vary.
