indispensible cookbook

One of the cookbooks from which you learn as much about life and how to celebrate as about how to cook the universally-delicious recipes. Organized on the principal of complete dinners or lunches, with seasonal references and preferences, and thoughtful suggestions about a celebratory dinner for one's publisher (or other visiting dignitary) and also for a lively group of friends who'd enjoy a spicy version of cassoulet. My old copy is worn and tattered and much beloved so I was delighted to see it still available for order...this time for a friend, who was as enchanted as I had hoped she would be. Simca vivat! And Julia, too, naturally!

Mentor to Julia Child

The book is great. Simca was the one that taught Julia Child how to do French Cooking. A must have book for for one learning to do French Cooking.

Simca's Cuisine by Simone Beck

I was given an hardbound copy in 1973. I used several of the recipes for intertaining. My quests were delighted and so was I. As one of your reviewers had said that most recipes were high in "butterfat" content. But that is the way with "French" cooking. I highly recommend this book to all "Francophile" cooks and chefs. It is a pleasure to read and experience.
