Valuable contribution to contemporary poetry

Written in the vernacular, the themes and the emotion behind these poems are deep, complicated and honest. Beautifully written - many of these poems reached me on a personal level because I am the daughter of a former teen mom. The struggle to find yourself and be a good parent is eloquently and vividly brought to life. I think many young women, teen moms and non-teen moms alike, would enjoy and relate to many of these poems. This is a valuable contribution to contemporary poetry and I highly recommend it.
